Daniel Vaiman was born to a family of professional musicians in Riga, Latvia. He started his piano studies with his mother at an early age of 4 and has shown a keen interest which led to him continuing his studies at the Gnessin special music school for gifted children in Moscow.
In 1989 his family emigrated to Israel where he continued his piano studies.
From this moment onwards, his life took him to many different countries both professionally and personally. Throughout his academical education, Daniel has been performing in different corners of our world either as a Soloist, chamber musician or with an Orchestra.
To pursue his career Daniel moved In 1996 to London where he regularly performed and at the same time he continued and completed his studies at the Purcell School of Music as well as the Royal Academy of Music. He then decided to move to Germany where he has received a Honour Degree in Master of Performance at the Karlsruhe Hochschule für Musik under the tuition of Prof. Kalle Randalu.
Since 2003, Daniel has been living in Switzerland. He originally came here to pursue his studies at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in the Meisterklasse of Prof. Homero Francesch. He graduated with the Solistendiplom with Honours. This encounter has been an extremely important point in his personal life as well as in his professional life as a concert pianist which led him to stay in this unique country and base himself here.
His concerts include performances at the Barbican, St. Martin's in the Fields, Queen Elisabeth hall, Lazienki Park, Minato Mirai Yokohama and festivals such as Chopin and his Europe, Elba, Musical summer at the Moulin. Also, Daniel has several CD recordings as well as numerous live Radio and TV broadcasts. Since 2009 Daniel is teaching a Piano class at the Musikschule Zug.
On a more personal note, in his free time, Daniel enjoys Snowboarding, Cycling, working with glass mosaics and he is a pasionate car enthusiast.
For his performances Daniel constantly tries to come up with interesting and perhaps not “ordinary” programs and he enjoys the personal connection to his public. He believes that Music is something to be shared with sincerity with everyone who wants to appreciate the essence of it whether it is through performing or teaching. To be a musician is not a job, it's a life.
